[sdiy] TR606 CPU?

my 606 had me confused for a while...

if youve just got the 606, i assume your not mega familiar with it yet:

in pattern mode, say if the function switch was stuck and the leaver was in
scale 1 (whole note) then the leds would light exactly as you say.

stuff in the patterns often gets scrambled when youve had the case off and
been handling the insides. mine normally goes into a pattern length of
one, so i put it in write mode, clear the pattern, put the scale to one, and
hold the function button whilst i press the 16th step, which sets the scale,
and also the pattern length. (just in case you dont have the manual)

anyway, my point is, that it could be somthign simple to do with the
functioning of theses bits, rather than more extreme stuff.

if you decide to modify the 606 once you get it working give me a mail, as
ive done a number of bits and pieces to mine...

hope it helps,

j

All the voices play fine but the sequencer seems screwy. In pattern
> play mode I get 4 lights (in postions 1, 5, 9, 13) cycling through 4
steps. In patt write mode, nothing happens except it carries on cycling
> through as if still in play mode. Do you think its a dead CPU? The clock
seems to be running at the correct speed. Could it be a power
