All Electronics is the bomb. I was just there yesterday -actually lost my
car keys in the hole of a spool of wire if you can believe that- took me an
hour to find them - uh-hum.
Scott speaks the truth -they are a surplus house. Because of that, some of
their components are funky - especially trimmers. Weird wacko ones which
were destined for old transistor radios. But everything is of its original
quality. It's not like they are passing bunk parts with used solder on he
leads and if they ever do, they are upfront about it and you pay mere
pennies (they aren't trying to rip anyone off). Just make sure you read the
descriptions carefully on the components you're looking at and you'll be
fine.
BTW, anyone who owns an old Serge form the Western Avenue days - know now
that probably 90% of the components in it came from All. They were just
down the street from All's downtown location. A matter of fact, they still
have a huge inventory of the white nylon spacers Serge used to use to stop
his pot shafts from wiggling so much when they were board mounted with those
inch and a half or so ilong 1/8 inch diameter shafts.
They are a GREAT selection of polystyrene's, BTW. A matter of fact, they
generally have a larger selection of passive components than anyone I've
ever visited.
Another great thing - when paying, cash is king. Let me just put it that
way.
I'm going back today - Karl, if you want me to check anything out in
particular or have specific questions about the pots, let me know off line.
