Hi Johan and Bryan, thanks for your kind and fast replies!!! I indeed want to start with a small system BECAUSE I do not have any experience with a Buchla system. Buchla does not even show on Frankfurt Musikmesse!!! For me thats really weird as we are living in a "small world show" and many well known synth maufacturer exhibit there. As Buchla seems to have a very good customer service and there is a "keen" second hand market I do not see that much problems if and when expanding the system, i. e. buying a larger boat. The functionality - as also Johan pointed to - of the 266e, 281e and 292e is well "copied" by Peter Grenaders Plan B product line and the newer Doepfer modules. So there is not that need to buy them. Using the 291e as a vca is exactly what I intend to do (Ezra Buchla mentioned that possibility some time ago). What I would really like to know are the reasons people had when at least partly migrating/moving from other well respected manufacturers like Serge (hello Jesus Diaz) or Wiard (Matthew Ritenburg) to a Buchla system besides monetary reasons? What do they think after a year or two? Last question so far: what is the "typical" delivery time? Does that depend on the module choices?
