Cheers Chris I thought about the 225e but I dont care if I cant save patches. So I didn't bother with it. I already have about 9 Plan B , Livewire ,Doepfer modules still to get so I think , prey this Buchla purchase will not grow, I have been happy with my 4 panel Serge, but i guess I use all the euro modules to play with the Serge.. Also Will I be able to patch the Serge an the 200e, or will they be different voltage issues? Appreciate the help Ross Chris Muir wrote: > > > On Mar 27, 2008, at 11:08 PM, cray5656 wrote: > > What I want to know is why do some modules get taken off the for sale > > list ie 259e and what is the difference between the 259e and the 261e > > > From some points of view, the 259e and 261e are somewhat similar: > they are both dual oscillators, they both have complex timbre > sections, they both have digital sine wave cores. > > The 259e got a sort of bad reputation, early on, because of ailiasing > artifacts, but it is actually a pretty interesting sounding > oscillator. http://www.buchla.com/200e/259e.html > <http://www.buchla.com/200e/259e.html> - this is no longer > linked to from the main site > > The only one currently made, the 261e, is a pretty close cousin to the > original 259, from the mid 1970s. > http://www.buchla.com/200e/261e.html > <http://www.buchla.com/200e/261e.html> > > They are both interesting flavors.
