291e, 225e, firmware questions

2008-02-21 by jon schatz

while i'm taking up bandwidth:

1) which 10 pin connector do i use when connecting a 225e module up to
the externally facing midi jack in a boat, the one on the circuit
board closest to the faceplate or farthest from the faceplate?
2) how do i edit the time parameter of a given step on a 291e? when
i'm editing a step and i rotate the "time edit" knob i only manage to
change the center value ("puls", "stop", etc) but i can't get the
cursor to the time value. is this a firmware update issue? which
brings me to
3) i know that at least my 225e is out of date firmware-wise. i'm sure
other modules are as well. i have a cf card which i put in the slot in
the back and selected "format card". does this card now have all the
info that b+a needs to then send me newer firmware back or do i still
need to enumerate which modules/versions i have?

thanks (and still learning),

It's on the back of the module towards the bottom, facing the MIDI
jack board, when in the case.

Press in on the encoder to move between fields.

Buchla & Assoc. sells a set of cards, one per module, that the
firmware is delivered on.

You will also want a couple of blank cards to back up your presets.

You can also buy the blank cards from moog music. The same cards are
used with the piano bar.
