Re: P&E BDM wiggler

2004-03-04 by john_r_w2003

Hello Charles,
I have just joined this group and was looking through
some of the posts when I came upon this one, I am very new to the
68376 micro that I am working with and have just purchased the P & E
PKG32 BDM software. I too am trying to program a SPI Eeprom, it would
appear that Frank fully understood your posting but I was wondering
if I could be cheeky enough to ask you to post another message with
more details as you offered to Frank on this subject as I do not
fully understand.

Any ideas/help appreciated.

Regards,
      John Wass.

OFF BOARD EEPROM. (Just for you info, the wiggler is not good for
programming the onboard flash of a part like the MC68F375. A
programming algorithm is downloaded to RAM through the wiggler and
the programming algorithm actually does the programming.) What you
do is develop a macro which the PE software supports. Essentially, a
macro is composed of the commands that the PE software uses, such as
memory modify, register modify, etc. So, think about it this way.
Are you able to use individual PE commands to program all the
registers and memory and stuff to program the EEPROM? Well, if you
can do that, then build a "macro" (this is a PE software function)
that uses these commands.

there is a problem with the serial number because it will change for
each unit to be programmed.
