Here's the deal: live in a crowded bar you won't hear a lot of 
difference between the AN1X, the PLG 150AN within the Motif, and a mini 
moog. 

The real issue is you and the band. The answer is to let the band know 
you prefer to lug something light to gigs and if that's a problem, 
discuss it. Perhaps someone can help you lug equipment?

If it comes down to weight or band cohesiveness, I pick band.

PS I just covered the back of my AN1X with flourescent pink and green 
duct tape. It looks very stylish now.
