Re: [AN1x] where's the warmth parameter? Lead synth questions

2006-07-06 by Rob Hill

Try using the feedback on the VCA, a VCO edge of around 60-75 and unison mode to fatten up the sound.

I 'think' a setting of 32-34 is around 1/1 keytrack.

Use the Aural exctier with a low drive of around 40 and a +50% mix to add a little squelchy high end gloss to the VCF resonance.

Try using the symphonic fx with a high rate but low depth on sync sounds for that wide Synthex sound like J M Jarre. ;-)

Have fun

Rob.

could tame this with EQ but if I knew how to program it would help.

Filter questions: How do you usually set the key track? When would you
use the band eliminate filter and what do you usually set the band pass
filter? Resonance seems to really affect the band pass filter.

Do you use the sync feature? There's three sync settings--master,
slave, and both. Which sounds better? FM settings: is it better to use
master, slave, or both. I never can remember which is master and which
 is slave.

Do you layer sounds or just keep basic one or two osc patches. I have
the best luck with simple sounds.

 Thanks
