The 8 pin plug is an audio adaptor to analog tape
recorders.  Do not use this with your ST.  

The midi cables on the TX81Z are identical to your ST,
and the unit should be interfaced with standard 5 pin
din midi cables.  You can ignore the 8 pin interface
entirely.

If you are using an ST emmulator for PC, you will need
a MIDI interface for your PC, such as the UNO usb
interface:
