I'm a moderator on 6 lists and an owner of one. It still amazes me what some people will do to get spam advertising onto these Yahoogroup lists. Most owners and moderators are leery of people who join and immediately post spam e-mails. They usually get the boot. However, I didn't see that to be the case in Harry's (is that your name?) e-mail.
