He may be confusing several topics. There is a set of tools for
developing C software on the Macintosh using Eclipse. this uses a nifty
plugin to allow AVR-GCC to be fully integrated with Eclipse as a full
IDE.
Of course the question is rather like "How far is up?", the OP should
lurk for a bit and search around for the general information and post
specific, answerable questions. AVRFreaks is a good start. :)
