Question about the A6 filter

Question about the A6 filter

2005-01-03 by matia

I'm just wondering if I am going crazy or if oberheim filter on the a6 is suppose to be
"louder" than the moog filter. it seems like the oberheim is going louder than the moog.

is it suppose to be like this?

thanks very much,

matia

Late reply, but might be useful if anyone else passes by...

Depends on what settings you have. Filter 1's bass does not drop
dramatically as you turn up the resonance. Filter 2, however, has
it's bass output drop steeply as you add resonance. This falls in
line with how the Moog's transistor Ladder filter design functioned,
and it is normal. Luckily, the A6 comes with a pre-filter mix to
allow you to mix in this missing element of bass. Just make sure you
don't overload the VCA, because it distorts the wave and only adds mid
harmonics.
