Panning with VF-1

Anyone know if it is possible to set up a patch with specific pan
positions? Is there an effect that does this (the pan effect slowly
sweeps from side to side)...I would like to set specific pan
positions for each patch.

try this:

Go to Pb 69 and make the following adjustments:

Flanger.
Rate 3, depht 9, manual 0, resonance 8, gate off, direct switch off.

RSS Panner.
speed 3, direction CW

And you'll hear the sound go round and round on your headphones

Sjaak
(And I gave the equalizer a nice bass boost and a firm cut on the high freq)

Wow, nice! Is there any way to set it at a specific position in the
stereo field and keep it there?

Not in this patch I guess, you could play with it for a time but i don't
think the signal can be fixed at a specific position.

Try this: select Pb 71, set the Delay-type to 3tap.
Delay-Time C to 0.
Time L and R to 100 %.
Feedback at 68 (or something else you like)

The panning is done with the following parameters: set Level (C) to Zero,
now you can choose the pan position by changing Level Left and Level Right.

Make sure that the Direct Level is set to 0 (or almost zero) and the FX
level is set to high values (100 or so)

Sjaak.

This is an off topic question for Dave Eichenberger.
No vf-1 subject.....

But I visited your website Hazard. Com.

I also own a gp-100, saw you also own one, but you also use a Johnson J
station (better amp sim's in your opinion), so I'm am getting very
interested in this J station.

I dont'have a J Station yet but I agree on the fact that the GP-100 amp sims
are not the finest.
(But they do produce very nice sounds after tweeking)

Questions after reading some more on the Internet about this J station:
1 are you still using the J stations amp sims , are they really that much
better ?
2. are you using the J station in the effect send/return of the GP-100 or
has the gp-100 almost become obsolete ?
3. maybe we could exchange our GP-100 user patches memory (mines are
stratocaster neck and or bridge pick-up orientated)

Thanks,

Sjaak

Yes, they do, better than the VF-1's, which I think are more recent
version of COSM. No idea why, but I couldn't replicate my favorite
GP-100 sounds on the VF-1, using the same effects and same settings.
The VF-1 is a little to 'crisp' and 'hi-fi' sounding. Great for time
based stuff, bad for distortion.

In my opinion, much. Thicker heavy distortions, and a huge
improvement on those 'slightly distorted Deluxe' sounds. The GP-100
was great on clean, great on heavily distorted, but nothing in
between. Problem is, the J's effects, which are good, but not
thorough by any means. I use the VF-1 for effects.

With the J/VF-1 combo, I sold the GP-100. Some people like the
routing possibilites of the GP-100, which are great, but I never
really used em.
The J/VF-1 go into a Mackie mixer, into powered JBL speakers. Sounds
great.

Sure, I have my sysex from my Geep somewhere, just email me and I
will send it...maybe there is something you can use.
