Boss VF1 problem. Please help me.

Boss VF1 problem. Please help me.

2004-03-19 by FFT

Hy.

I saw a message in VF1-BOSS yahoo groups, about a problem with the hardware. I thought you can help me.

When i turn on my vf1, the start up screen stops, with the VF1 boss logo, and doesn t change. I did the factory reset, with the parameter buttons, with no results. I turned off many times , and nothing.

What can i do?

thanks

Sorry to hear about your problem.
Do not remember (reading about) a simular problem with a Vf-1.

I do notice a lot Behringer V-amps with the start up screen playing crazy
(thats in the V-amp group).
When the Behringer does that it needs a new battery.

I am almost certain the Vf-1 also has a battery somewhere inside, maybe its
running empty ?

My two cents for tonight, let us know please what you found...

Contact your local dealer or write Boss support if this group does not give
you the solution....

good night,

Sjaak

RE: [BossVF1] Boss VF1 problem. Please help me.

2004-03-19 by David Spangler

Just a suggestion, but if you open up the unit and can locate the battery,
you might try removing it briefly to clear any glitch that may remain in its
RAM memory. It may also be necessary to replace the ROM chip if that doesn't
work

In my considerable experience with computers, it was necessary at times to
remove or temporarily short the motherboard battery to clear problems that
were perpetuated by having the battery keeping the circuits active.

Good luck,

David

Hy.
I can t locate the battery. If it exist, it doesn t a have normal
figure.
I read in this group, in old messages, that it can be fixed with a
key combination. Another solution, is upload the flash rom with a
midi package that i can dowload from this group upload files, but
i don t have the midi cable to do it.
Any sugestion for the key combination?
or....How to identify the battery? (it doesn t have a battery like
computers)

thanks.

Hmmm..... I'll have to do some research. I'll open mine and see if I can
identify a battery.

Later,

David
