RE: [CZsynth] Cz-Midi and Windows midi driver

2002-11-07 by Furman, Jon W.

The Emagic programmer is technically right about the handshake but
practically wrong. According to Casio documentation there is a break in the
transmission of the data but this can effectively be ignored and everything
will still work. Sounds like the author of the CZ101 module figured this out
but the CZ1 programmer didn't. I had the same problem with Unisyn and had to
tweak the CZ modules to work with that app.

Sort of, I am using a CZ101, it seems to work fine. The one thing I did
have to do was set both send and receive to the same channel. Make sure the
CZ is set to ENA for MIDI sysex, if I recall correctly. Unfortunately I
don't know if the CZ1 is all that different, but I believe it is supposed to
work.

format (not every request ends with F7) is incompatible to Windows because
the Microsoft OS processes midi data in blocks and not each single byte!
