I wonder whether it is Arman or > Rogue or both who profit from this sort of practice. =========== i didn't mention it to anyone, because in my experience they would just claim that it's an honest mistake. for my immediate needs (trading in my synth, and going home with a different one), it was resolved when i plugged in the cable. i suspect that armon and the store both profit from this. he's crooked, and they know about it, which makes them crooked. the *ONLY* way to deal with it is to make it publicly known. i just remembered another time i stopped by [rogue], asking about some ROLAND parts.... i just needed some knobs to replace the old, beat up knobs on a piece i just got (i think it was a TR-606). i figured they might keep inventory on a common part like that, and save myself some time in shipping from CA to NJ. i was told that they can't sell just the parts, but feel free to bring in the unit and they'll fix it for me. i ordered the parts from ROLAND and did the repair myself. ...atom ----------------Void-If-Detached---------------- http://smasher.suspicious.org/fs1r Yamaha FS1R "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." -- The Wizard Of Oz
