Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

i've had my cz 1000 forever.  i think i had this problem once like 8 
years ago...anyway,

the LED above the power button keeps flashing.  within a few 
minutes of turning it on, the keyboard turns off.  the "auto off" 
switch is turned off. 

i would think it was a case of dying batteries except it's plugged 
in.

i did a rehearsal with it this afternoon for maybe 2 hours and i 
think it didnt flash for most of it.  then towards the end i think it 
was flashing, but it wasnt turning off until i went back to play 
more a few hours later.

any ideas?  i hope my old beast isnt dying a slow stupid death!
