How much better than the 1000?
Here is a comparison of their respective features:
Feature: CZ-1000 CZ-5000
Power: Battery/adapter Mains only
Keyboard: Full-size, 4 octaves Full-size, 5 octaves
Controls: Pitch-bend Pitch-bend, vibrato
Memories: 16 64
Polyphony: 1/2/4/8 1/4/8/16
Multitimbral: 4 channels 8 channels
Modes: Mono, layer, poly Mono, layer, poly, split
Effects: - Stereo chorus
Pedal inputs: - Sustain,volume
MIDI: In, Out In, Out, Thru
Additionally, the 5000 has a step-time multitimbral sequencer which, although somewhat dated may be useful. It should be also noted that the 1000 does not respond to sustain pedal info via MIDI.

Subject: [CZsynth] CZ5000?
Someone is advertising a CZ5000 for sale in my town and I was wondering how
much better is it then the CZ1000. I have done some internet research and I
see that it has more 'effects' then the CZ1000. What are these effects?
Someone also mentioned the lack of filters on the 1000 so I gather the 5000
has some sort of filter system. What sort of filters are they? Thanks in
advance!
