Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Well, you haven't mentioned carriers in your posting ;) 

Using feedback has the advantage that the amount off harmonics is dependend on 
the Operator level therefore it's working much better for for sweeps than a 
static waveform. 
Another way creating distorted Sounds is using a carrier at fixed frequency 0Hz 
(or a bit more when you want to add a slight "modulation" to the sound) as 
waveshaper, what works for DX7 and VZ as well. On the VZ only as long as you use 
the sine waveform what brings me to the conclusion that saw and noise are no 
"real" "operator" waveforms... ;)
