Wasn't that dust cover cool!! I wish that more new synths came with something like that. I still have the dust cover on my CZ-1000. This sort of confirms my suspicions about the CZs, I bet the higher up models were much more expensive than the lower ones. I remember seeing a new CZ in the music store back when I got the CZ-1000 and I don't remember the price but I do remember that it was much much higher than the CZ-1000. I remember being very impressed by the DCW velocity mapped CZ resonant wave duck voice on that CZ-1 that day in the store. -----Original Message----- From: Jeremy Pinkham [SMTP:forms@...] Sent: Monday, June 04, 2001 2:01 PM To: CZsynth@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [CZsynth] VZ-8M Jon Furman wrote: "Speaking of the old CZs does anyone here know what the release dates and original prices were for the CZ series? If I remember right I got my new CZ1000 around '86 for somewhere around $300." I don't have such a list, but I can tell you that I bought my new CZ5000 around the same time period (give or take a year) for something like $1,000 with a RA-3 RAM cartridge, plastic dust cover (which eventually fell apart) and CZ-themed keyboard stand (which eventually warped out of shape -- cheap, thin, hollow metal!) in a music store Okinawa, Japan. -- jp To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: CZsynth-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com Your use of Yahoo!
