Sometimes I've found that you can red rid of grounding hum by disconnecting the ground from one of the connected devices. This is easy with european Schuko plugs ( http://kropla.com/!f.htm ,) by taping over the grounding strips on the plug. Depending on the type of plug it might be more or less tricky, and/or impossible. Also beware of the risks for running a device designed to be grounded without grounding! Another option is to experiment with running the devices in the same or totally different (usually at the other end of th house ;) outlets. Both may sometimes aid in killing the ground loop. On the other hand a ground loop is a steady hum, and modern audio software can remove hum when given a sample with a bit of just the hum and nothing else :) .max -- Max Romantschuk http://max.nma.fi/
