Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Not true at all - I even used mine as a battery-powered strap-on bass keyboard a few times in the late 1980s! Granted, it won't run on batteries for more than a few hours, but it definitely can. It even has an auto-power-off feature to save battery power. Btw, when my 101 eventually died about four years ago, I literally threw it away and bought a CZ-1 for £85 (about $120).

  The cz101 doesnt run off batteries, they are there just for the 
  memory back up!!!
