Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

I'm playing around with this CZ 101 now.

according to the manual, shen the light below the "select" button is on, it's supposed 
to go to tones 9 - 16.  Instead when I do this, it goes to tone mix.  What is going on?  
How can I stop this and get to tones 9 - 16?
