If so, I tought I gave you voices + op-mems. If I am recalling correctly, those should help you as models to follow. Also, below is a copy of a text file I posted on the VZ Patch Bank Project. I was writing it so people who posted patches (voices and op-mems) could let users know what special effects the patches used. Some are Normal Mode effects; some are Op-Mode effects. If you have my complete voice + Op-mem bank, the text document should give you examples of what's possible. Hope this helps. --Steve 2004-11-07: ----------- It looks like the plans for a VZ Users bank is either on hold or has fizzled entirely. For the time being I will leave my VZ sounds here. The VZ patches were designed for the Casio VZ line around 1990-1991. They were placed here as part of a project by members of the CZ-VZ Yahoo Group to collaborate on a bank of orinal VZ sounds designed by group members. (1) Op-Mems which use these voices will be posted once the entire VZ User Group bank is defined. (2) The following table of design features and performance tips is currently being developed/revised. ===================================================================== ========= 2004-09-07: Steve posted the following voice patches (channel 1 data): C-1 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Spacey/Harm1 (1b) C-2 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - CZ Spacey 2 (1b) C-3 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - CZ Spacey 3.0 (1b) C-4 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - CZ Spacey 3.1 (1b) C-5 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Spacey 1 (1b) G-1 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Toy Piano 1 G-2 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - 91/08/25 (3a), (98) G-3 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - PingPong 1.0 (3a), (98), (99d) G-4 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - PingPong 1.1 (3a), (98), (99d) G-5 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - PingPong 1.2 (3a), (98), (99d) H-1 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Sci-Fi 1.00 (1a) H-2 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Sci-Fi 1.01 (1a) H-3 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - SweepSound2 H-4 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Sine M2-M1 H-5 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Test Hold 01 H-6 Steve.syx - 681 bytes - Voice - Test Hold 02 ----------------------------------------------------- design/performance notes: DESIGN FEATURES: (1) uses long envelop effect as follows: ----(a) long attack/sustain/decay [so hold the key down] ----(b) long release (2) uses mod wheel effect as follows: ----(a) amp/timbre loudness/brightness ----(b) tremolo depth (3) makes special use of global voice parameter as follows: ----(a) Tremolo PERFORMANCE TIPS: (40) best played as an arpeggio as follows: ----(a) wide (eg: Perfect 4ths, 5ths, 8ths) ----(b) narrow (eg: close triads) (41) play mod wheel for accenting beats/for creating rhythm MODES: (97) best used in multichannel mode (98) may be used as Normal or as Op-Mem (99) used in several Op-Mems as follows: ----(a) Combination: layer ----(b) Combination: keysplit ----(c) combination: layer/keysplit ----(d) combination: all 3 types ===================================================================== ========= Addendum: (1) To send single patches into VZ: ----MIDI DATA EXCLUSIVE = ENA [enabled] ----MIDI CHANNEL = 1 ----NORMAL (2) Data will be sent to VZ temporary sound [compare/recall] area. They will not overwrite presets in memory. (You can leave MEM PROTECT INTERNAL = ON.) (3) Comments on the above presets: ----The "Spacey" patches work in normal mode, even though I have Op- Mem's designed for them. ----My CZ patches are ones I converted (manually) from my custom CZ patches. ----"Sci-Fi"work in normal mode. They are optimized for the keyboard's high register. ----I am 99 44/100% sure Toy Piano 1 is my original. (I was dissatisfied with factory Toy Pianos.) ----IMPORTANT: "PingPong" patches need Op-Mems to get the proper effects. -------I will post them once the bank of patches is completed. ===================================================================== =========
