As a proud owner of both a cz-1 and a cz-101 (not to mention a vz-1 and formerly an FZ-10M and VZ-10M) I can say that, given the same paramaters, and with the chorus on the cz-1 turned off, they sound the same, I'll occasionally use my 101 to add some extra voices when my cz-1 was running out of polyphony (at least I did before I just recorded everything as individual audio tracks in cubase, hard disk space is so cheap nowadays, why not?)... but the velocity sensitivity on the CZ-1 makes it a much more expressive instrument. I find the chorus takes away "punch" but I turn it up for sounds that I don't need to be punchy anyways, like pads and smooth basses.
