Hi Micah,

the TX802 probably needs the FX even more than the CZ, in case you got one...

I'm currently using the onboard FX of my two Yamaha DSP Factory Cards but at the 
end I mostly record the FXless synths dry and add some Effects later...

If it has to be small, Behringer is putting out a very small affordable box soon.

Lexicon released this year a nice multi-fx unit with different routing options 
for the two stereo engines. It's a little more expensive of course... ;)
