Hey all !
Thanks to all for replying. And thanks Joan, you solved it ! And John G., you helped. It was the SO3 all along. When I first got it, the Yami was my first real synth ( I had/still have a Yami psr-170 keyboard, more about it in a minute) so I didn't know much about keyboard transposition or mastertuning. But I did know right out of the box that the SO3 wasn't in proper tune ! So I read the manual a "little" bit, enough to know to go into "utility" and find master tune, not kbd transpose mind you. Master was set at all 0's, so I ran that sucker up to something like 1034, until it was in tune with my electric guitar tuner, and never thought about it again ! Until I read you guys' advice tonight. First thing I did, as per John's advice, was hook the SO3 to the psr-170. Sure enough, the SO3 played the 170 flat. So thinking of Joan's advice, I dug a little deeper into the SO3's utility mode. There I found "kbd transpose" which was set, apparently from the factory, to +11. So I ran this
down to +0 and found that the keyboard was now roughly one note sharp. I went to master tune, still right where I put it at 1034 and started running it back down. When I got to exactly zero VIOLA, the keyboard was in perfect tune ! I hooked it back up to the Casio, now transposed to it's proper key of "c" and they matched like twins !
So thank you guys for a job well done ! I opened this subject to get my Casio fixed and ended up getting my Yamaha fixed instead ! You know your stuff. I haven't had the CZ long but I'm really growing attached to the little monster ! And it's great that there's a group like this to come to. Thanks again guys !

Hello,
Just one question: Are you sure the problem is in the Casio synth? Could be
possible your S03 has a bad tune -half tone higher-?
In my opinion this seems more possible than a wrong midi meesage or
something similar.

Joan M.
