VZ series manuals

2005-11-01 by mark@secondlook.com

Hello,

I'm new to the group. I owned a CZ101 in the mid-80's and stupidly sold it
in 1986(?) because I couldn't stand the tiny keys (I also stupidly threw
out all the template charts of all of my excellent custom sounds!).

I recently bought a used CZ1 keyboard, which came with a user manual, and
a VZ8m and VZ10m rack unit -- neither of which had a manual. The VZ10m has
not arrived yet but the VZ8m has and I can't figure out very much about
it.

I just checked the weblinks that were posted for the CZ1 manual and found
a manual for the VZ1 but not for the two rack units. Does anyone know a
source for those, or if the VZ1 manual will get me far?

I am a keyboardist, bassist, and wind player, and own a Yamaha WX5 wind
controller. One of my goals is to evaluate the VZ10m (which has a better
interface) to see if there's a way that I can set it up for wind
controller data. Some of the on-line reviews are ambiguous about this.

I bought the VZ8m first for this reason, and because I kept losing VZ10m
auctions. Now I may find the VZ8m is redundant. I'm guessing I'll need to
set my WX5 to send velocity instead of breath control, at any rate.

Of course I realise that CZ and VZ patches are not compatible, and
apologise if the VZ series is considered off-topic for this forum. I want
to get into my own programming as soon as possible as I feel that PD and
iPD synthesis are still greatly untapped for their potential.
