Hmmm... could be the built in relais, to prevent klicks it connects
the output signal to ground until the synth is completely up. I had
that problem with two Casio Keyboard, a CZ-1 and a friends FZ-1. When
it fails the output tends to be very low, but randomly restores to
normal. One solution is to replace the relais another one is simply
to bypass it...
