Re: [CZsynth] Question regarding cz 101 emulations of Casio 101 presets

It can't be done. The CZ's envelope generator is limited to 4 attacks and decays/releases. You might be able to find something like a vintage Vox tremolo/repeat pedal; put an organ sound through one of these and you get a mandolin effect. But I don't know anyone who makes a unit like this these days. An analogue synth with an external input (e.g. Korg MS-10) would work too. As far as the "Cosmic Tone" is concerned, try the "Double Sine" waveform with a slow DCW attack - that does something like the octave shift you described.

Another possibility for the mandolin effect might be to get a Casio SA-75 - it's a children's keyboard, but it does have that repeat mandolin sound and it costs less than £30/$50.

Subject: [CZsynth] Question regarding cz 101 emulations of Casio 101 presets

I recently sold my Casio 101 in order to purchase a casio cz-101 in
order to increase my sonic arsenal. But a few of the presets on my
original 101 are critical to songs my band has written. most crucially
the mandolin feature that simulates a mandolin tremelo picking. And
cosmic tone that is a basic octave filter that passes between and
upper to a lower octave gradually. Does anyone know where i can find
these patches? I have a harpsicord patch that sounds like the mandolin
wave form but I need to modify it so it repeats as the key is
depressed here is the harpsichord patch i use.
