I always thought that the way that PD is implemented on the CZ is not that similar to what's on the DX's practically speaking. That's why the two don't sound anything like each other and the CZ is so easy to program. The algorithm that Casio uses is not that complicated, it's very clever actually although it is a bit different for each of the waveforms that the CZ can distort a sine wave too.
