Midi Solutions , I think, stills makes those pocket side midi gadgets, one of them does velocity rescaling. (Anatek used to make them too before they folded) ... but I would like to recommend the Oberheim Navigator, one of Oberheim's "Perf-X" series - it was a totally cool series of MIDI message manipulators in flat plastic cases. The Navigator has velocity remapping, and a whole lot more. You might be able to find one cheap still. Of course, these boxes have the worst interface ever created - they're useless without the manual! ===================== The Perf-X series Navigator: Midi message remapping - rescale, transform, rechannel, and more Systemizer: Midi note remapper - not only can you create keyboard zones, you can "rotate" the note assignment amongst "groups" of zones - Meaning you can use use a CZ101 in mono mode (responding to 4 contiguous midi channels), and by repeatedly playing a note get 4 different notes in succession - very cool. Cyclone: an incredibly powerful, flexible arpeggiator - the most sought after Drummer: never used one - a type of rhythm pattern generator - any one here used one? Strummer: never used one - a kind of arpeggiator, supposed to make natural guitar "strums" from midi input I heard there was another one called the "Chordator" , but I don't know for sure if this was ever actually marketed, or if it really existed.
