Hi Jeremy ! I think so too, this machine really sounds great. Compared for example to a software sampler it has got much more presence. I have never loaded files via midi as sysex files. Is it easy to do ? If you want it to sound lofi, try sampling a sound at 9 khz. The filter (DCF) sounds great too. The synth modes are good too.
