The CZ-1 is the only synth in the CZ line that comes with aftertouch even though all it does is activate the vibrato. The CZ-1 is also velocity sensitive and the patches scale the DCO, DCW, and DCA from 0- 15. All of the patches from the other CZ's will load but they will have these parameters set to 0. The CZ-1's patches will work in the other CZ's. They will ignore the velocity settings. I tried the SY22 aftertouch strip but it was too narrow from front to back at 1/4 inch. The black and white keys hit the original strip in 2 different areas 1/4 inch apart. The original strip is almost 3/4 inch wide. I did figure out what is wrong with the aftertouch though. There are rubber strips that have 4 rows of very fine carbon vanes that make the connection between 2 stainlees steel bands that run under the 61 keys. There are 3 rubber strips 12" long to span the distance. The entire assembly is sandwiched by felt glued to foam rubber. It's mounted in a plastic strip and held in with 2 sided tape. One of the rubber strips has become non-conductive from the drink that was spilled in it before I purchased the synth. A portion of the foam rubber is bad too. I may try getting some of the conductive paint that restores the carbon. I tried a soft lead pencil but it wouldn't work. I also scanned the CZ5000 Service Manual if anyone wants it. It's 60 pages and 9.8 mb. It explains a lot of the circuitry and why the CZ sounds like it does.
