well, the amount of data the juno sending/receiving is relatively 
small compared to the patch/bank data of the VZ-1, so this might not 
be an indication that the MIDI-OX setting are correct...
You could try to set delay between buffers and F7 in the configure 
window to maybe 100ms and more...
What MIDI Interface are you using? 

I think I tried midi-ox to upload sysex to the VZ-1 once and can't 
remeber having had much problems. But I usualy use Sounddiver to 
handle Sysex-Date...
