Good News! I enquired a few days ago to www.Route66studios.com, who make replacement drives for every other vintage synth, to see if they had any intention of making a FZ replacement. I got the following reply from Andy the shipping mangager "We are working on the FZ-1 drive now, keep posted" Not very expansive, but its the best news regarding these infernal drives Ive had for a while. My tech has had a couple of cracks at Bucty's solution, but without success. I know that other people have pulled it off, but I think theres some subtle jigsaw peice of information missing. Anyway since Route66 seem to be able to offer new drives for around $75.00 US, it may not be a problem in the long run.
