Re: our casio instruments, as well as others

2008-08-14 by synergeezer

I'm not very good as a keyboard player. But I'm much better on MIDI
guitar, Akai EVI, Akai EWI, and Casio MIDI Horns.
One technique I use on keyboards is to use a VL-1, or VL-5, and this:
http://www.pluto.dti.ne.jp/~araki/amazingmidi/
It converts wav files to MIDI files. I program a sequence into the VL
(with its meager sounds), and play it back with the step sequences
through "Amazing MIDI". This software converts .wav files to MIDI,
and flute sounds work best as input for me. I'm drawn to the
interpretation as oboes and English horns, but that's me (maybe
because I can play brass, but not double reeds!).
It's cheating, so sue me! Or find a new way to have fun!
