Does it work on batteries?

Many times the solder connections to the power board from the connector being tugged around go bad. Resolder.

I have a bittersweet story my friends. I just inherited 2 CZs:

A CZ101 and a CZ1000. Both have been in storage for a while, and both
  have been
  kept dry in cases.

The CZ1000 works awesome. Plugged it in...Display is good, sound is
  good.
  MIDI implementation, yada yada...

Phase Distortion is now part of my audio palette...hell, yeah!

But what about the 101, you ask?

Well, that's what I was going to ask about.

Plugged it in the first time with the proper AC. The power light
  switched on,
the display popped up, just for a second and then nothing.

I've been trying to get it up and running. I cleaned out the AC area
  with
a Q-Tip, I opened it up and ran a blowdryer on all the boards to
  remove any
  dust.

There is corrosion in the battery area, and a little bit towards the
  top of
  the inside of the instrument.

All the wiring, however, is in place.

The power light will come on occasionally as I plug it in, but not
  always, and
never more than a 1/4 second.

  Any pointers? Tips?

  Thanks.
