Re: Who Still Uses A CZ?

2009-05-07 by alancurrall

What a strange question to ask. I can't imagine why anyone would sign up to the CZsynth list if they didn't use a CZ synth. The clue is in the name.

Just in case you think I'm being a little disingenuous (not to mention rude), I should mention that I've recently renewed my 20 or so year fascination with these magnificent noise makers. Back in the day I started out with a CZ1000 and then moved on to a CZ3000. I foolishly parted with that about 5 years ago and have regretted it ever since. Just lately I had been holding out for a reasonably priced CZ1 but, growing impatient, I settled for a very cheap CZ5000 and am now just getting to grips with its built in sequencer. It adds a nice touch to the otherwise CZ3000 spec and I'm not really missing the CZ1's keyboard sensitivity. Some synths just aren't necessarily designed to rely on that kind of feature.

Anyway, despite dissing the question, I've gone on to answer it. So it must have been worth asking.
Cheers,
Alan
