It's possible to assign some of the parameter to the 
wheels/aftertouch/foot controler, it's not meant to program the synth 
but to control the sound. Amp Env Bias is the parameter to look for, 
when one is after extreme timbre changes, since properly used it can 
be the equivalent to a filter parameter.
