Hi, all! I just found this group, and I thought maybe I could learn
something here.
I recently dragged my CZ-1000 synth out of the closet where it's been
for several years I bought the thing about 6 or 8 years ago mainly
because it was very cheap. I came with the manual and a bunch of
magazine clippings of articles with programming hints, but I never
seemed to find the patience or time, and never could really figure it
out. Well, I finally decided to go through the manual, and it's
finally starting to make a little sense.
My biggest problem with this machine is that damn tiny, dark display.
I can hardly read it. Is it supposed to be lit? It's not - I wonder if
there's a bulb I could replace. Also, those 4 cursor control buttons
are very unresponsive, and you sometimes have to push them several
times before you hit them just right and get something to happen.
Programming this thing is very tedious and frustrating.
Is there any software I can use to program this thing via MIDI from my
computer? I use Cakewalk Sonar, which has Studioware panels for some
popular synths, but not any Casios.
I think I could get some interesting sounds from this thing, but right
now the main thing it gives me is a headache!
