Re: [CZsynth] Re: Internal Memory Backup Battery & EZ-CZ Cartridge

2010-11-22 by charlie midi gfa

has anybody ever just thought to back up the memory onto a single diskette?

heck a single 1.44 floppy can hold about 400 tones for a cz

then you never loose them

enables user to build a library of "unique " or personal voices
and
saves the earth from useless old batteries going to the dump

i have never had batteries in my cz
and never lost the voices in the internal memory only
after a month of un use that the machine dispurses of meory contents
so if u can go a month then you can still have your patches

save money , save batteries
save time , save your nice custom voices

get a patch editor ,save tones on disk

they want. Personally, I don't like sending buckets of single-use batteries
to the waste facility, and I do like running things off batteries sometimes.

to make sure he doesn't lose his patches while at a gig. That could be
easily accomplished by good rechargeable batteries, the 9V mod, or a couple
of sets on single-use D batteries.

energy to keep the RAM from losing its data. In that use scenario, an
alkaline battery makes sense for the reasons you stated. An even better
solution for you would be to store those sounds on your PC, and not on a
cartridge. Then take those batteries out of that cartridge before storing
it! If you haven't had gear ruined by being stored with the batteries in it,
then you've dodged a bullet.

me. One of the big downsides of rechargeables is their initial cost. Good
ones can seem quite expensive. You have to think of rechargeables as an
investment, and even then they still seem expensive.

I do have some experience with them in other things. If my experience is
typical, I do not recommend rechargeable batteries for two reasosns: (1)
they do not last as long as conventional batteries and (2) they discharge
when not in use.

charge for well over 10 years. In my experience, the energy in rechargeable
batteries dissipates within weeks or months.

rechargeable batteries. I do that with my CZ-101. It has the advantage of
keeping you on, even if you get accidentally unplugged for a second. But for
this option, you would have to have a battery charger.

I unplug my CZ-1000 from the wall, I run the risk of all of the internal
sounds I've programmed being erased, along with the pitch wheel resetting
itself to super and sub-sonic range, and the instrument tuning going off. Is
there a battery I can change somewhere in this synth?! Does anybody know
where it is? My band is going into a series of punk rock Christmas shows
this December, and I would love to not worry about showing up to the show
with an empty memory bank.

job. Has this happened to anybody? Any fixes?
