I don't think so. Mellotron used processed, compressed, EQed samples of real instruments, with limited range, add random drop-outs or frequency and timbre inaccuracies - it's not so easy to emulate on analog or digital synths. It's possible with samplers, synthesizers with ROM samples, or RAM for sample import. Way of playing is also important and has it's specialties on mellotron sounds (for example with strings sound - wide voicing, legato play, notes not longer than 7 or 8 seconds...).
