Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Howdy,
 
 interesting that you would mention the ESQ-1. This keyboard player, after droppind his Poly-8--, and seeing the keyboard smashed to bits, sold it to me for $10. I got another from a local music srore for $40 because it wouldn't hold the contents of the memory tape. Little did they know that the batteries in the unit was what kery the RAM "awake". Put in batteries, the patches are there as long as thebatteries last. I believe there is a mod out there that lets you install a small lithium memory battery that will eliminate this problem.

Thanks for the tip! The Poly 800 is definitely also on my list of low-cost synths to start my collection with, along with Ensoniq ESQ-1, Kawai K3 and a couple other more obscure ones that seem to be going for lower prices these days.

But for some reason, the CZ-synths seem to be calling to me... They just seem to go well with the kind of music I make.
