FO 44 00 00 70 30 F7 is "acknowledge." The CZ is saying, "Ï got a sysex message that was intended for me." It implies, "If you have more, send it now."
I this info is available in the CAsio CZ Midi Guide which someone scanned and which has been available on the internet for years. It might even be in the FIles section.
The CZ handshaking protocol is a bit funky to work with. When developing CZ midi, Casio developers did a no-no. They thought the F7 was supposed to mark the end of a series of system exclsive messages. Everyone else doing midi put the F7 at the end of each and every sysex command.
If you take a look at the CZ-5000 sequencer dump handshaking sequence, you should see sysex flying back and forth between an initial F0 and a final F7.
Anyone designing software for the CZ line has to take this into account. Software with generic sysex functionality like midi-ox or Cakewalk can try to fool the CZ by adding some extra "OK; send more" byte sequences which in my experience with the CZ-5000 stay in the CZ's midi in buffer until needed.
At least this is how I remember it being when I would send requests for dumps from cakewalk to the CZ. I hope others can confirm this. (Apologies if my memory is not 100%).
