You know Charles, this is just my opinion (I don't speak for the group in any way), but I don't think you should post messages to the whole group boasting about the information you've figured out if you're not willing to freely share that information within the group . . . I personally think it runs contrary the whole idea of what these groups are about. There has been a ton of information and knowledge shared here, and as I've found most it by searching through and reading all the old messages I've never once seen someone "demand" anything in exchange for their knowledge and their help. Just look at all the information and knowledge someone like "cosmo" has shared both in this group and on his website (which he has put up again just to keep sharing his resources, for free, with all those interested). And there are so many more like him in this group that are constantly openly sharing their knowledge. I certainly don't think that there would be anything wrong with you * requesting* sounds or original midi files that other users have made (and a quick look a the files section in this group will quickly give you an idea of how generous everyone is with sharing what they have to contribute), but to withhold a piece of information that could be very helpful to the other users (especially after going through the effort of letting the group know that you've figured out that specific piece of information in a message), just seems, to me at least, contrary to everything that's going on here. Let's face it, the group member who has requested this information from you, so they can get the communication running between their synth and computer, might be very new to this synth, or to synths in general, and might not yet at this point have any personally generated patches, or midi files to share. This kind of member who probably needs your help even more than a member who *could *supply you with their own sounds and midi files, as those members would have a better shot at working this information out for themselves. Anyhow, again this is just my opinion. I am still quite new to the CASIO synths (and all real vintage hardware synths to be honest), and the information freely shared within this group has made it possible for me to learn in a short time what could have taken me years to figure out on my own. If I had had to trade some information or patch files for every bit of that information I've found here I'd have been screwed because I'm new to this and don't yet have any info I've figured out on my own to share with the group - but hopefully I will be able to help out another member down the road when I've gained more experience (thanks largely to this group) and am then in a position to happily share it within the group that helped me so much. That's just how I see it.
