Have you tried to initialize? There's a button for it. But maybe it will not work if you can't read display. Try to remove batteries and then switch on and perform initialization. There's no internal battery. If it went gradually worse and worse, it can be some contact problem, or transient resistance somewhere. Probably it needs some small maintenance and cleaning inside. I would open it, disconnect all connectors (one by one), clean them with some contact cleaner and connect again. It's good to repeat more times to disconnect and connect the connector for cleaning. And check power supply voltages to be sure this is OK. There are more grounds - digital, DAC, frame and analog... If this doesn't help, you have to get it check by professional serviceman.
