Re: Need help fixing relays of my CZ-1 please...

Hi Fab8,

I used the part mentioned in my earlier post here:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/CZsynth/message/4468

This is the part, and it is supposed to be a direct replacement (as I recall, I called the company and asked a tech):

http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/756919-relay-dpdt-2a-5v-50-ohm-coil-g5v-2-dc5.html

This only helped get rid of what I call "the crackle" noise. I should mention however, that my CZ also has a very high noise floor... it hisses. I know there are a number of posts on this forum about this, but I have not yet read up on it myself... need to get around to it someday. I don't really remember the posts exactly, but for a number of people (I think with hissing noise), the relay was not the problem, it was something else. The point is, if your problem is the "hiss", then I don't think this will help. but if it is the "crackle," then change the relay.

As for where it is... I remember it being right up on top - easy to get to. The part looks like a (relatively) big, rectangular box I had some trouble figuring out how to open the case... I think I detail that all in my early posts as well... just search my user name.

Now I need to get to my hiss problem... :)

best - DT
