Thanks for the info. The left D7811G is certainly hotter than the other, and i'm getting a solid 12Hz clock on pins 30 & 31. Positive voltage (thought the chip would be on 5v but it seems VCC is more like 3.5V) on both chips on pins 25 & 28. one of the D933AC chips (also on the left) is cooking pretty hot too... can't seem to find a datasheet for that one. not a whole lot to be done, I suspect, without IC replacement. Anyone have a 3000 (or possibly a 1000, as it seems that just one of the engines is toast, despite not getting any sound out whatsoever?) spare or donor mainboard? Thanks again for the solid info.
