I actually should have replaced these with two MOTU XT, with all
ins merging into a single out. But MX-8 are still a bit cheaper,
besides they do have some interesting functionality I might
use at some point (i.e. all sorts of MIDI processing), which
MOTU does not. Also, I know these units well enough and can
edit w/o a computer connected.
